Ugh had to learn how to unwrap UVW’s not fun – wasted my weekend.
Ended up with this:
I know what you’re thinking…not fucking bad ay?!
I used some post production techniques that I do for photography, that’s why it looks a bit styled.
I am proud of this, let me know what you think.
Thanks for watching.
Mate, looks friggin awesome. Really. This just bumped you up my “skill chart” a whole 20 positions haha 😀 Congrats!
Ps.: this also means that I might bother you with some further “tweaking” and “feedback” sessions on my latest models. Hope you won’t mind. 😀
Cheers.
Many thanks – you are too kind.
About the tweaking and feedback – Any time man!

Looking very awesome! Why did u need to unwrap this one? I realy like the postwork you´ve done, also materials turned out very realistic along with a nice lighting, only the DoF is a little bit too much for my taste, but realy fastatic work! And yeah, unwrapping sux =)
Thanks man! I needed to unwrap it so that the bump/reflective/specular maps didn’t get stretch. It wasn’t fun doing the whole chair.
Glad you like the post work 😀
Very cool mate 🙂 love the detail…
thanks man!
Looks pretty good to me, shading is lovely. Deformations on the front squab of the seat look a bit unnatural though, but I wouldn’t like to say that they are not accurate to your reference though! You ZB any of it, or old school? 😉
Thanks mate. Glad you liked that shading, that was my biggest challenge on this model. I know what you mean about the deformations, I went a bit mad! I got carried away, I wanted the seat to look soft and comfy and used.
There is no ZBrush all old school modelling.
Very nice, and I feel your pain on learning UV unwrapping 🙂
omg, that looks so nice. Great skills buddy! I didnt even know you could do that? My brother just plays around with photoshop. Did you use photoshop?
Hey,
The model was done in a 3D application called 3D Studio Max. It was rendered in V-Ray and then Photoshop was used for the post production to lift the image slightly.
Thanks for stopping by.
